ToMove: a valuable opportunity
With the ToMove project, the City of Turin realizes a Living Lab focused on the co-development and testing of new smart and sustainable urban mobility scenarios. The project aims to integrate innovative mobility solutions, including connected and autonomous vehicles, with Mobility as a Service (MaaS) models which will be developed in parallel in the “TorinoMaaS4Italy” project–promoted and developed by the Department for Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Transport, thanks to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) funds.
ToMove will allocate approximately 2 million euro to the co-development and testing in real conditions of innovative services through the Call for Testing and Call to Action, involving the Public Administration, the worlds of research, businesses, and the City community itself.
Thanks to the project, Turin has the opportunity to position itself as a new mobility city, co-designing with citizens a simple, safe, and sustainable mobility infrastructure in the public and private sector, through the integration of new technologies with the experiences of the House of Emerging Technologies (CTE NEXT) and Torino City Lab.
The role of companies
The strong desire to involve the industrial ecosystem is reflected in promotion, mapping, and engagement actions in a public-private dialogue on the national territory. In particular, action has been launched on several different channels and national networks to generate interest in SMEs and large companies to participate in the activities of the Living Lab. The aim is to involve them in the experimental opportunities and create a platform for sharing scenarios and technologies with mixed participation.
In this context, Piemonte Innova Foundation is a project partner and has built the pathway for the qualification of industrial interests that enables direct involvement of national enterprises in the public-private dialogue programme by mapping skills, and designing experiences and investment opportunities for innovation and testing of previously developed solutions and prototypes.
How companies can join the dialogue:
-
- By filling out the form to express interest: tell us something about the type of company, its role within the mobility ecosystem, and any project experiences related to the initiative;
- Participating in 1-to-1 interviews: these will serve to map project experiences, discuss research areas, and define interests on the themes and technologies of the ToMove initiative.
- Participating in the thematic workshops: during the workshops, a facilitated discussion between companies and members of the Promoter Committee will share the different perspectives on future scenarios – from the industrial side the experiences and investments in progress and on the public, information on infrastructure and regulation, and general synergies that can be activated with ongoing trials.
